SAP MM/WM Consultant.  Part of a team responsible for SAP MM/WM support of QatarEnergy LNG's SAP system and implementation of a cloud-based (SaaS) procurement system.

October 2016 – April 2018

January 2015 – September 2016           

Subsea 7 Ltd, Westhill, Aberdeen, Scotland

SAP SCM Specialist. Part of a team responsible for technical support of Subsea 7’s worldwide SAP system (problem-solving, MM configuration, preparing technical specifications for programmers, system testing, user training, etc.). Worked on various enhancement projects & assisted with EHP7 upgrade.

SAP SCM Consultant. Short term (three month) contract working with a small team responsible for technical support of KCA Deutag’s worldwide SAP system and working on small enhancement projects.

April 2012 – December 2013                   

Apache North Sea Ltd, Aberdeen, Scotland

SAP MM Analyst. Part of a team responsible for supporting Apache’s UK Beryl field SAP system and merging the Beryl & Forties SAP systems (releases 40B & ECC6) into a single ECC6 system. Project involved design, configuration, testing, data conversion, user training and support.

January 2008 – March 2012                     

ExxonMobil, Aberdeen, Scotland

SAP Operations (MM) Support Analyst. Part of a global team responsible for supporting ExxonMobil’s upstream SAP system. Responsibilities also included handling small enhancement projects & involvement with SAP upgrade from 40B to ECC6. Assisted with export of ExxonMobil’s Beryl field SAP system to Apache before working for Apache (see above).

 

January 2005 – November 2007              

First Group plc, Aberdeen, Scotland

SAP MM Consultant. Initially part of a small team responsible for re-implementing & stabilising First Group’s UK Bus SAP system (release 4.6B). Project-managed 3 key SAP projects: Purchasing Optimisation; Master Data Maintenance; Warranty Recovery. Developed recommendations for enhancing existing functionality & system use covering over 100 UK plants/depots; carried out system configuration and coordinated training & system changes with the business & SAP support group.  Towards end of contract, worked on an 8 month SAP master data cleansing project and also provided general SAP support and developed KPI reporting for the UK Bus Group Purchasing department.

 

October 2003 – December 2004              

ExxonMobil Production Deutschland GmbH, Hannover, Germany

SAP MM Consultant. Part of a small (post-implementation) support team responsible for embedding ExxonMobil’s upstream SAP system in the organisation (mainly in the Procurement, Warehouse & Accounts Payable areas), recommending & coordinating system enhancements for the German onshore business, providing user support, training power-users & handing over system support tasks to Subject Matter Experts. Also participated in two other small teams: (1) to implement SAP invoice workflow functionality; (2) to review business processes and enhance SAP system knowledge & usage in ExxonMobil’s upstream affiliates in West Africa (Chad, Cameroon & Angola).

 

August 2002 – September 2003              

ExxonMobil Production Deutschland GmbH, Hannover, Germany

SAP MM Consultant / Team Lead. Led the project’s Operations team (MM & PM analysts and subject-matter-experts) responsible for implementing ExxonMobil’s upstream SAP system in a new German affiliate.  Activities included team lead, project planning / budgeting / coordination, data conversion, process design, system configuration, system testing, developing technical specifications for programmers, developing integration test scripts, user training, etc.  After implementation (1st July 2003), provided 3 months warranty support along with other team members.

 

October 2000 – August 2002                   

Mobil North Sea Ltd, Aberdeen, Scotland

SAP MM consultant. Part of a team responsible for development of a global SAP template for roll-out to ExxonMobil’s worldwide upstream operations. Activities included process design, system configuration, system testing, developing programming specifications, developing test scripts, training, etc.

 

July 1998 – September 2000                    

Qatar Liquefied Gas Company Ltd, Ras Laffan, Qatar

Senior SAP MM consultant. First year of contract spent enhancing SAP functionality and business process design, implementing new functionality (e.g. external services & MRP), maintaining user authorisations & profiles and handling day-to-day support issues.  Involved with upgrade project from Release 3.0F to 4.5B including configuration, QA testing, problem solving & user training. Continued working on system enhancements, system support and reviewing / implementing new functionality (e.g. refurbishment orders, requisition release with workflow) until end of contract.

 

February 1997 – June 1998                       

CSC Computer Sciences Ltd, Celle, Germany

Senior SAP MM Consultant - assigned to an SAP project for Mobil Erdgas-Erdöl GmbH in Germany. Responsible for system design, configuration, data conversion from SAP R/2, integration testing & implementation of MM module (procurement, invoice verification & inventory management), development of training packages & conducting user training.

 

January 1997 – February 1997                 

CSC Computer Sciences Ltd, Aberdeen, Scotland

Senior SAP MM Consultant - transferred from Mobil to CSC as part of an outsourcing contract.  Continued to work on design & configuration of SAP contract services (MM-SRV) for Mobil’s SAP R/3 project in Aberdeen (see below).

 

November 1994 - December 1996            

Mobil North Sea Ltd, Aberdeen, Scotland

Senior Staff Project Analyst for MNSL's SAP Project.  Responsible for business & system design, configuration & implementation of Purchasing & Contract Services.  Also gained experience of invoice verification & inventory management in SAP plus knowledge of EDI & QM.  Gained basic knowledge of PM, PS & FI functionality. Acting Procurement Team Leader during initial implementation phase from July 1995 to end 1995.  Conducted integration tests, user tests & user training. First phase of project successfully implemented in January 1996 using Release 2.2d.  Upgraded to Release 3.0c in December 1996. During last phase of project carried out design & configuration of External Services module. 

Note: during 1994/95, helped prepare & communicate requirements & specifications to SAP’s developers in Germany in order for them to successfully develop the SAP External Services module.

Various positions held within Mobil's UK affiliates including:

  • Purchasing & Contracts Supervisor - responsible for leading a team of 15 procurement personnel. Spearheaded the development & implementation of innovative, long-term procurement strategies.  During this period, MNSL was recognised as Mobil's global best practice affiliate for procurement. 

  • International Purchasing Co-ordinator - responsible for procurement of high value tubulars (OCTG & line pipe) for Mobil affiliates in the U.K., Germany, Netherlands, Norway & Nigeria, sourcing from U.S., Japanese & European steel mills and suppliers.

  • Purchasing Co-ordinator / Senior Buyer - responsible for a team of 8 buyers purchasing materials and services for Mobil's Coryton Refinery, Birkenhead Blending Plant and UK service stations.

  • Supervisor of Marketing Group / Assistant Buyer / Materials Analyst II - responsible for leading a small team of three buyers purchasing a wide variety of materials for export to Mobil's world-wide E&P and M&R affiliates. Negotiated purchase agreements and co-ordinated procurement, freight forwarding and import/export requirements.

  • Materials Co-ordinator / Warehouseman & Pipeyard Foreman - responsible for manual and computerised inventory control, including stock replenishment; goods receipt, inspection and issue to and from offshore locations.
